May is Mental Health Awareness Month

May is National Mental Health Awareness Month. During May, we take a moment to acknowledge the impact of mental health on our lives. Since 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been dedicated to supporting those with mental health conditions and their families through activities like education and advocacy. During this busy time, we encourage you to #TakeAMentalHealthMoment for yourself with no guilt or shame. You are more than enough and worthy of wellness and care!

You can easily incorporate several activities into your day to support your wellness:

  1. Start a gratitude journal
  2. Walk outside
  3. Meditate
  4. Listen to music
  5. Talk to a friend
  6. Read a good book!!!
  7. Talk to a mental health professional

Your mental health matters because you matter! Whether you are going through your own wellness journey, supporting a loved one, or you are a professional dedicated to serving the health and well-being of others, the library has many resources available to you.
