Open Education Week

by Samantha Silver on 2025-03-02T10:10:00-08:00 in General | 0 Comments

In honor of International Open Education Week (March 3-7, 2025), we support the reintroduction of the Affordable College Textbook Act into the 119th Congress.  This measure recognizes that motivated students should not have their educational goals toppled for wont of a textbook.

Check out LibreTexts' OpenEd Week webinars!  Perhaps you will find the tools and encouragement to be part of the affordable textbook movement.

Consider applying for an ALMI grant so that you, too, can drop pricey course materials from traditional publishers in favor of OERs.  While the deadline for Summer 2025 courses has passed, we encourage professors to think about making changes to reading requirements for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 classes.

Since 2019 we have saved students over one hundred thousand dollars. Let us try to reach the two hunderd thousand mark soon.
