Faculty Toolkit: Information Literacy

Resources for faculty on information literacy, assessment, and library instruction

About the Toolkit

The purpose of this toolkit is to provide the MSMU faculty with resources about information literacy and how librarians can assist them.

Our information literacy program bases its foundation on the Association of College & Research Libraries Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education.

As part of our Library Instruction Programs we offer:

  • Assistance with the creation of assignments that highlight information literacy standards
  • Instruction sessions on library research
  • Embedded librarian in courses to provide tailored research assistance
  • Individual one-on-one research consultations
  • Tutorials and workshops for students
  • And more...If you have any ideas, please contact us!

Information Literacy Assignments

The assignments in this toolkit serve to make research projects stronger by creating information literacy specific outcomes directly correlated to the assignment in order to increase student learning at the course and program level.

Use Levels 1, 2, and 3 to find sample assignments that meet your information literacy needs.
