Generally, a makerspace is a room or area dedicated to hands-on discovery. This space is stocked with the tools, supplies, and other resources needed to facilitate your creative projects. You may arrive with an idea (or even a half-baked idea!) and leave with a finished product. The goal of the makerspace is to further your experiential or kinesthetic learning skills and encourage your appetite for innovation and creativity!
The M³LAB is a space where everyone is welcome, and which inspires creativity and collaboration. Some activities will make you think critically; others will turn your thoughts into action. We support a maker culture where:
This space has been created with the support of the W.M. Keck Foundation.
The M³LAB is available for use by current MSMU students, faculty, and staff in their coursework and other MSMU related work.
Located in the Charles Willard Coe Memorial Library on Chalon Campus, the M³LAB can be found on the 2nd floor near the Media Center, 24-hour study room, and individual study rooms. It is accessible by stairs or elevator and has restrooms available nearby.
The M³LAB is open all week, including weekends. Weekly opening hours are 9am-9pm Monday through Thursday, and 9am-4pm on Fridays. Weekend opening hours may vary so, please consult the Maker Station Appointment system before making your way to the makerspace.
