Faculty Guide: MSMU Libraries Resources

Overview of library services and resources available to faculty at MSMU, including online and in-person class instruction.

Research and Reference Assistance

Encourage your students to make research appointments with the librarians.
Or make one for yourself!

Your Research

Faculty, staff, and students can make appointments with librarians to receive assistance with research papers, assignments, navigating databases, choosing and narrowing research topics, reviewing search strategies, and more.

Make sure to fill out a library card application if you have not done so already. Then stop by the circulation desk at either library and a barcode will be placed on the back of your faculty or staff ID.

What is Document Delivery?

Document Delivery is the process of ordering single articles from periodicals that are not held by the library.

MSMU subscribes to a wide variety of publications. Due to cost, publisher/author discretion and other factors, we cannot subscribe to every periodical in existence.  However, we will purchase specific articles at no charge to our students and faculty members and email them directly to you.

What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is the process of ordering print books and other physical materials that are not held by the library.  MSMU owns a finite number of print books and has the license to lend many electronic publications.

Due to cost, publisher/author discretion, and other various factors, there may be some books that are not on our physical and virtual shelves.

We will order these requested materials through ILL at no charge to our students and faculty members.
