Can I print web pages and other file types?

Yes you can print these. Web pages and other window file types should first be converted to a PDF file before uploading to PaperCut. Also, if you wish to print specific pages in a document, you will need to create a new document and copy and paste the information into it or create a PDF.

To print specific pages in a Microsoft Office document using an MSMU library, lab or laptop computer:

  1. Under Printer: Choose the Adobe PDF printer.
  2. Select the pages you would like to include in the PDF and click Print.
  3. In the Save PDF File As window, create a file name, determine where to save and click Save. You are now ready to upload your file to PaperCut.

To convert a webpage into a PDF using an MSMU lab computer:

  1. Click File from the main toolbar.
  2. Click Print and choose the Adobe PDF printer.
  3. In the Save PDF File As window, enter file name and click Save. You are now ready to upload your file to PaperCut.

If you wish to print documents that were created on a Mac using Pages, Keynote, or Numbers, you will need to use the built-in export functions that allow for compatibility with Microsoft Office for Windows.

If you need a PDF file converter for your personal device, you can download the CutePDF Writer. Please visit http://www.cutepdf.com/ for more information.

Note: Web-print also defaults to 2-sided print and auto-detect color. If you wish to print everything in black and white, convert everything to black and white or select “print on grayscale” when you convert your file to PDF.
