How to Print @ MSMU: Your guide to printing, copying, and scanning with PaperCut

Send with Desktop Client

OPTION 1: PaperCut Desktop Client 
For Library & Campus Lab Computers Only

If you are on an MSMU network computer you can choose to send your file directly from the program that the file was created in (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF)

How do I use the PaperCut desktop client?  

  1. In your program (i.e. Word, web browser), click File, Print.
  2. Under Printer: Select the PaperCut printers -  FindMe Xerox on MFSC-PAPERCUT
  3. For additional print settings, click Printer Properties

In the properties window, you can change the number of copies, duplex settings, number of pages per page, black and white or color print, paper type and size.

How can I print specific pages in a document?

  1. In your application, click File, Print.
  2. In the Pages: text box, enter the page number(s) you wish to print. (i.e. 1, 3-5)
  3. Click Print. 

Send with Web-Print

OPTION 2: PaperCut Web-Print 
For Personal Devices (laptops, phones, etc.) and/or Campus Computers

Note: Using Web-print, You can only print PDF files. Web-print also defaults to 2-sided print and auto-detect color. If you wish to print everything in black and white, convert everything to black and white or select “print on grayscale” when you convert your file to PDF. ​

How do I use the PaperCut Web Interface?

  1. Save file and Find PaperCut - (use PaperCut shortcut on the desktop or Log into PaperCut from the myMSMU Homepage)
  2. Log in - Use your MSMU username and password. 
  3. Web Print - Select Web Print from menu at left.
  4. Submit a Job - click the Submit a Job >> link. This lets you upload your file to print.
  5. Select a printer from the list. Note – PaperCut virtual printer is already selected. Proceed to step 2.
  6. Print Options and Account Selection - Click the 2. Print Options and Account Selection>> button.
  7. Upload Document - Select the number of copies to print and click the 3. Upload Document>> button.
  8. Browse or Choose File - Click the Browse or the Choose File button to locate and select your file. The chart above outlines the accepted file formats that can be used for Web Print. Click the Upload & Complete >> button. 
  9. Status - Held in a Queue - Your document will be submitted to the printer queue and a status page will show you when it is ready. When the status is listed as “Held in a queue” your file is ready to be retrieved from the printer.
  10. More? - To submit another file for printing, click on the Submit a Job >> link.
  11. Log Out - When you are finished, select Log Out from the menu on the left.
