With Google Scholar you can search across many disciplines and sources: articles, theses, books, abstracts and court opinions, from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities and other web sites.

Once you are connected to MSMU you will see Library Links on the right hand side.
These sites can be reliable sources of information. Government sites are generally noted with the .gov at the end of the URL, and Non-Profits with .org. With Non-Profits it is important to investigate the organization to ensure that you are getting reliable non-biased information.
Look at things like their funding sources, mission statement, about section to better understand the group.
